Thanksgiving at Nana and Papa's

This was such a fun Thanksgiving. We had such a great time with Brandon and Bev's family and Nana and Papa. We ate the most delicious food: turkey, ham, homemade stuffing from Denise, wedge salad (pictured), rainbow jello-the kids favorite (it was a huge hit!), homemade rolls (thanks Mrs. Rhodes), jalapeno corn (we have a good story to go with this one!!), cranberry fluff, deviled eggs, and yam cassarole. It was amazing. So let me tell the jalapeno corn story. First of all, it is melt in your mouth delicious. We just love it, however, this year Dane decided he would do the jalapeno slicing and when I made it last year, I left out all the jalepeno seeds. Well, Dane decided to give the corn a little more of a kick this year and put ALL THE SEEDS IN from one jalepeno. Let me just tell you the fire this corn had, oh my goodness, we were all tearin' up! It still tasted delicious, but way way Way too hot! Aparently Brandon likes hot things and thought he could handle about any level of hotness and took a bite. Not just any ol bite, but a huge bite! He was caughing, choking, crying, laughing for I'm not kidding at least 15 minutes. It was kinda scary, but we just couldn't control the laughter. We must have laughed throughout the rest of that beautiful dinner-- it was quite the sight. I wish we had gotten a picture, but for those of us there it is ingrained in us forever--thanks for the laughs Brando! The rest of the evening we enjoyed each other's company, played darts, and pool, of course shopped the black friday ads which included a mapped out plan of attack, the kids played outside-it was a beautiful day! Darryl did his annual house lighting ceremony and then everyone came over to our house for pie and to watch the new Jim Carry "The Christmas Carol" in blue ray (because it just makes the experience that much better) The cousins slept over and another successful Thanksgiving had come to pass!
